DIY ONE SHOULDER ONE MINUTE NO SEW WRAP DRESS

The above fabulous idea is from another blogger that I follow, Kristen at Glitter 'N Glue.   She made the dress using two yards of fabric and only took her about a minute to wrap and tie for an on-trend, summery look.

This would be easy to duplicate as no sewing required, although when I think I will put a small hem on the unfinished edges at the top and bottom.   Kristen spent $10 to make this, but if you have a Walmart in your area that still carries fabric, they sometimes have cute, lightweight prints for between $1.50 - $3.00 a yard.

She does wear a tube dress underneath, but I would probably wear a bustier or strapless bra (as I would be to jiggly at the top without them) and pair with half slip underneath.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but between computer problems, vehicle problems and my my son's father being in the hospital just have not had time.  Hopefully things will calm does in the in the next few weeks and I can get back to creating, crafting and cooking.

Hope everyone has a Happy Leap Year Day:)

How to Peel Ginger Quickly

This is a tip that I learned off of "The Kitchen Hacker" that makes peeling ginger easier and go more quickly, it is also safer than using a knife or vegetable peeler.   All you need is a spoon and scrape the peel off.   The video below suggests to make it go even faster, break off any nobs to get a flatter surface, but if you are going to grate the ginger it is easier to leave it on and using the spoon works well to get into the crevices.

Chocolate Cake Peanut Butter Chip Cookies

This is for Moms Crazy Cooking Challenge for February and the challenge was "Chocolate Cake" where you use another bloggers recipe and try it out.

I chose Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies by Cookies and Cups although I was not able to find the mini Reece's peanut butter cups at my local grocery store and had to adapt using peanut butter chps.

Adapted from Cookies and Cups

1 box chocolate cake
2 eggs
1/3 cup canola oil
1 pkg. peanut butter chips
Parchment baking paper

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Hand mix cake mix, oil and eggs until combined.
  3. Pour in entire bag of peanut butter chips (I used a 10 oz bag)
  4. Mix chips. If necessary, add 1 TBSP of water until cookie doughish.
  5. Roll with your hands the dough into tablespoon sized balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet about 2" apart. Cookies will spread.
  6. Bake for 9-10 minutes.
