GOTHIC ROSE TRASHION NECKLACE

See Gothic Rose Trashion Necklace and 1000's of others - or share your own on Cut Out + Keep

This is for Day 27 of 30 Days of Creativity for the theme "Extinct Media".  As I have lots of old VHS tapes around the house I decided to craft a necklace using the magnetic tape inside the cassette.

The finished necklace looks much better in purpose because the shiny surfaces catches and refracts the light.

2 GNOME ME IS TO LOVE ME

This is for day Day 24 of 30 Days of Creativity for the theme "Gnomes".

I have a hatred of lawn gnomes so no way was I going to go that route, so instead I decided to use my "Let's Make T-Shirts" program and a free clip art from http://www.gnurf.net/v3/clip-art/free-clip-art-010.html
for the Gnome to design a punny play on words "To (Gnome a/k/a know me) is to heart (love) me to printout and iron on night shirt.

After ironing on, I embellished it with red fabric paint.  At some point I will post at Cut Out + Keep along with a free download of the design both regular and for t-shirts (which is a mirror backwards image so the lettering comes out right when ironed on).

Scrappy Bracelet

This is for Day 23 of 30 Days of Creativity and today's theme is "Plaid".

I decided to craft a bracelet based on this tutorial by Peekadot for a scrappy bracelet, but instead of using a purchased bracelet, I used a hot knife on a water bottle to cut a 1/2 strip from it.  I then using scraps of plaid fabric about 1/2 inch wide and glue gun and wrapped the fabric around the plastic strip to make this no cost bracelet.

PARMESAN TORTILLA CRIPS

This is for Day 21 of 30 Days of Creativity www.30dayofcreativity.com and today's theme is "Cheese".  I chose to try a recipe from One Perfect Bite to make Parmesan Tortilla Chips and they came out tasty more like crackers than chips, but would be a fun soup topper.

I stuck pretty much to the recipe except that I used 8 inch flour instead of 6 inch corn tortilla and used sea salt.  I also recommend checking at 6-8 minutes instead of 12 minutes as the first batch was too toasted and I ended up throwing it out.

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 12 6 or 8 inch tortillas
  • 1 cup fresh shredded Parmesan
  • 1/4 to 1/2 sea salt
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

"Line two large heavy large baking sheets with aluminum foil. Whisk oil, oregano, and pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat just until warm. Set aside for 15 minutes.

Brush oil mixture over both sides of tortillas.

Stack tortillas and cut them into 1/2 to 3/4-inch wide strips. Arrange strips in a single layer over the baking sheets. Sprinkle cheese and salt over strips. Bake until strips are golden brown and crisp" about 6-8 minutes.

Yield: 5 to 6 servings.
