Miracle Milk Bath

This would make a nice last minute Christmas gift, or a gift to yourself to relax  with an inexpensive at-home DIY spa treatment from ingredients that may already be in your cupboards.

This recipe was adapted from Tablespoon and will equal 3 recommended bath treatments (1 cup each), although prefer putting mine in an old Parmesan Cheese shaker and sprinkling or pouring into my bath instead.

The mixture is to be added to a hot bath to detoxify, deodorize and moisture skin.

• 1 Cup Baking Soda
• 1 Cup Epsom Salt (Tablespoon used regular salt instead)
• 1 Cup Powdered Milk
• 1 tsp Cinnamon
• Clean dry container(s) or plastic bags
• Bowl to mix ingredents in
• Spoon

Optional:

• Printer
• Scissors
• Free Lacy Graphic The Graphics Fairy
• Photo Editing Software
• Glue or glues stick
• Gold Acrylic & sponge brush or spray paint

Mix together.












.Pick out the container you want to use and spoon mixture inside

 I used a Free Lacy Graphic The Graphics Fairy to create a vintage looking label.  I used the free version of  Picmonkey to add the text to the label, then cut around the edges and used glue to glue it to the bottle.  

As I wanted it to have a vintage vibe, I used acrylic paint to paint the lid gold, dabbing with a sponge brush, allowing to dry and repeating 3 times.

Fairy Bath

Make a fairy bath out of shells for a fairy garden or small action figures.

This is a project that I found over at The Magic Onions with a picture tutorial and knew it was perfect for my own fairy garden.

Items needed (all of them you can pick up at the dollar store):

• Bag of decorative shells
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Pick out from the bag of shells 1 large scallop shell for the tub, 4 small scallop shells for the feet of the tub and 1 small conical shell for the faucet.

Position the four samll shells for the feet and test out by putting the large shell until it sits level, then apply glue to the small shells and place the large shell on top of them. Glue the small conical shell to the straight edge of the large shell.

Sugar and Spice Bath Salts

In search of feeling day spa on the cheap, I went in search of DIY bath salts and ran across the following recipe:

Items used:

• 1 cup Epsom Salt
• 1 cup Kosher Salt
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp ground ginger
• 1/2 tsp ground cloves
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 16 oz or more jar (I used an old salsa jar)
• Large bowl
• Spoon

Put ingredients in a bowl

Mix together throughly and spoon into jar.

It results in a wonderful, spicy scent.

The above original link has a label that you can print off and glue to the jar or you could dress up the jar with a ribbon . I used a glass jar because that is what I had on hand, but it would probably be best to use a plastic jar if you have one available (an old Parmesan Cheese container would be perfect!)

SALT SCRUB

This is my first ever attempt at trying to make something like this. It is based on a tutorial by jojobeans designs at the following site http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/salt_scrub For my scrub I used the following:

• 1 cup espom salts
• 3 TBSP sea salt
• 1/4 cup olive oil
• 2 TBSP Spearmint leaves
• 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
• A few drops of green food coloring

I mixed everything together and put in an old olive jar (I painted the lid with spray paint first) then tied piece of fabric in a bow on the upper edge of the jar.

I was worried that the salts would be too coarse and rough, but I tried some on my hands but they were tempered with the olive oil and it was refreshing and it smelled nice.
